Silchef Splatter Screen Review

I will be the first to admit that I love cooking with oil, but I will also admit that I am scared of getting burned by it. The Silchef Splatter Screen helped ease my fears and kept me protected. The large screen can fit over just about any pot or pan, and the fine mesh metal will keep all the oil contained. 



I first tried this splatter screen while frying chicken, which can be a dangerous food to prepare. The oil must be extremely hot and you need to closely monitor the chicken as it cooks. I was extremely happy with how well the screen kept oil from leaping out at me. When you take it off the pan, the resting feet keep the oil from getting all over your kitchen counters.



The 13" size of the screen makes it incredibly versatile. It can also be used as a strainer, cooling rack, and steamer! After using the screen to help prepare food, it can go right into your dishwasher.



This screen may look like it can't do much, but that is far from true. Keep one in your kitchen and you will find yourself reaching for it all the time!
