Frieling Black Cube Saucepan Review

Frieling Black Cube Saucepan Review

Reviewed by , Editor,

The Frieling Black Cube Saucepan is a unique and durable pan that you will want to use every day. The pan is made using both stainless steel and a nonstick coating which sets it apart from similar cookware. It is a perfect size for making sauces, heating up leftovers, and much more!

The Black Cube line from Frieling is an innovative line of cookware. The pans are made with a combination of stainless steel and aluminum which allows for great distribution of heat. The nonstick coating also has raised layers of stainless steel that help you get the browning effect on food which is usually not possible with nonstick pans. Since the stainless steel is raised above the surface, it means you can use metal utensils without ruining the nonstick coating. An added bonus of the stainless steel is that you can use this pan on any stovetop, including induction.

I love the size of this saucepan. The 1.5 quart capacity is perfect for making a sauce. I especially like that you can use a metal whisk to combine the ingredients. I especially liked using it to make gravy because you can deglaze the pan and get all the brown bits of flavor incorporated into the gravy. I also found the size ideal for heating up leftovers. You can quickly heat a cup of soup or a bowl of pasta you made last night.

The saucepan comes complete with a great lid. It is made of tempered glass, which gives the lid extra resistance to temperature shock. It also has silicone edges which keep it snug on the pan, allowing you to quickly boil water or steam vegetables. The vented knob is adjustable, giving you total control of how your food cooks.
