About the Paleo Diet
Everyone talks about what you can't eat when you're on a paleo diet. But since you're already gluten free, you know that even when your diet is restricted, there are plenty of foods you can still enjoy. When you're on a paleo diet plan, you already have to avoid bread, so you're one step ahead of everyone else.
Let's talk about what you can eat on a paleo diet. To put it simply, if it came from an animal, it's paleo-friendly. Processed meats (like hot dogs) aren't the best choice, but feel free to eat bacon, chicken, eggs, ground beef, lamb, pork, steak, turkey, and veal.
Seafood is also an option on a paleo diet! It's a great source of lean protein and healthy fats, so eat all of the fish you want.
Fruits and vegetables are also fair game. If you're following a paleo diet to lose weight, then starchy vegetables have a relatively low nutritional value for you and you're better off choosing something else.
Eat yams, sweet potatoes, squash, and beets in moderation and load up on others like asparagus, kale, cauliflower, etc.
Fruit is loaded with sugar, and even though it's natural, you'll lose weight easier if you eat them in moderation.
Nuts are paleo too, but you need to be careful. Legumes are not a part of the paleo diet and peanuts are a legume. Nuts are also high in fat, so as with everything else I've mentioned above, enjoy in moderation. Some nuts you'll be able to enjoy: almonds, cashews, pecans, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, etc.
